Once Angie’s TV show got popular, Jason was forced to be to take care of their daughter, when Angie was out filming. He never wanted to take the responsibility of her daughter, which caused problems between the two. Though he liked his children, he did not like to take any kind of responsibility for them while she was working. He always wanted her to take the responsibility of her daughter which she could not manage due to her work. He preferred Angie to have the traditional role of being a nurturing mother. When she was out working, Jason had to play with the kids and had to attend the tea party and other girly games which he strongly disliked. Though it looked cute, he did not like it and always insisted that Angie should be the one to complete feminine activities with her daughter. But she always remained busy with her work schedule and could not manage any time to spend with her daughter and this lead to a lot of conflict in the marriage.
Harmon told another version of the story to the media. She said Jason took great care of the kids when she was busy with her hectic work schedule. She claimed he was not irritated and there wasn’t any kind of quarrel between the couple regarding childcare. She would be out filming sometimes for almost 10-15 days for her show and it was Jason who would be with the kids. He was very supportive of her career and did all he could to help. She said Jason was the steady rock in the relationship and she used to freak out when something went wrong but he was always around to calm her down. He took great care of her and the kids.
She felt that she was very lucky to have him. Even though she freaked out at him often for little things, he still tolerated her. He never shouted at her or abused her for her rude behavior. She considered herself very fortunate for having him as a partner in her life. She told a story once about how her phone cracked on set but she was too busy to get a replacement. Jason was in Charlotte and he bought a phone for her and sent it to her through FedEx. This was one of the many surprises that he gave her. He always loved giving her surprises especially when she was away from him. She has always enjoyed surprises and his romantic gestures were one of the many reasons that she loved him so much.
In 2014, Angie and Jason announced that they were getting a divorce. Angie said that they were already mentally prepared for it because they had been living separately from each other for many months because of her acting career. They would take turns taking care of the kids but sadly the distance also caused them to fall out of love. There was no infidelity involved and their mutual friends were not surprised that the marriage came to an end because they hardly spent any time with each other during the final years.
