Marriage to Marco Rubio

Jeanette met Marco Rubio at a party when she was 17, and he was 19. The two began dating during their time at Miami Dade College. Jeanette was also a member of the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders, a prestigious professional cheerleading squad affiliated with the NFL team.

The couple married in 1998 at the Church of the Little Flower in Coral Gables, Florida. Together, they have four children: Daniella, Amanda, Dominick, and Anthony.

Family Life and Parenting

After marrying Marco Rubio, Jeanette briefly pursued a course in fashion design at the International Fine Arts College. However, she later chose to prioritize family life and became a stay-at-home mother. She has noted in interviews that managing four children largely on her own—while her husband was frequently away as a politician—felt at times like the life of a single parent.
