Currently she is married to United States Senator, Marco Rubio. They met a party when she was 17 and Marco was 19. Their relationship started during their time in Miami Dade College. She was part of the cheerleader team – Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders.

Housewife and mother of four

After she married to Marco Rubio she took a course of fashion design at the International Fine Arts College. She did not finish the course because she preferred to become a stay-home mom to her four children. Jeanette confessed during an interview that taking care of children while her husband is a politician can be compared with the life of a single mom. During the time her husband was part of Florida’s legislature Jeanette had to travel to Tallahassee in order to see her him.

Marco Rubio, Jeanette’s husband entered the race for Presidential. Unlike other spouses she refused to give campaign speeches and preferred to support her husband from the shadows. Some said that the two of them didn’t get along back then, but pictures of them show that they are a happily couple.

Charity

Jeanette is a member of the Norman Braman Family 2011 Charitable Foundation. This is the main financial donor for Marco Rubio’s campaign. It is said that they spent about $10 million for Rubio’s PACs.

Jeanette works as a volunteer for Kristi’s House a non-profit organization that takes care of youth in Miami area. Most of the cases involve abuse and human traffic.

Personal life

Jeanette and Marco had their wedding in 1998 at the Church of the Little Flower from Coral Gables, Florida. Together they have four children – Daniella, Amanda, Dominick and Anthony. Because they are very religious they regularly go to the Roman Catholic Mass at Church of the Little Flower and the Protestant worship at Christ Fellowship. This is an Evangelical megachurch part of the Southern Baptist Convention.

She also hosts a Bible study class at her home. The meetings are once a week. All four of her children go to religion based schools. Three of them go to a private protestant Christian school while one of them goes to a Catholic high school.

When they talk about the beginning of their relationship, Marco confesses that in the beginning, while he was in the University of Florida, he liked to go out, and spend lots of time clubbing. When he first started to date Jeanette, in 1990, he remembers that their first date was on a movie – Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. He said that in the beginning, when their relationship was a long distance one he thought that they couldn’t make it, so they broke up. He remembers that one night, after partying, he took a good look at himself and discovered that he did not feel complete without Jeanette. That was the moment when he called her and started to date again. Now he says that it was the best thing that it could happen to them because their connection became stronger and they become more in love with each other. The couple is very famous and whenever they go out, people on the streets stop them in order to take a photo with them.
