According to his biography, the parents of White had moved in the city of New York where they wanted to pursue acting careers. When they met, they started to perform on the stage together for a long time and after some years, they decided to get married. After their marriage, they stopped acting career and they got jobs that were meant to help them in supporting the family. During elementary school, he was a dancer who enjoyed tap, jazz and ballet. When he was 13 years old, he went to the middle school dance and he changed his mind and decided to try out acting.

During interview, Jeremy Allen White said that he does not like to watch himself performing. He has to wait for sometime before he can watch the show since he said that he became too critical about his acting and this drives him crazy. He likes to watch everything in the dark room when he is alone and stays in the fetal position or he may keep the notebook and can write many things on it.

He likes to listen to Tammy Wynette and it started when he wanted a song to listen to while filming a movie and ended up liking him. He asked the producer to put some of her song in the movie but it was not possible since she is too expensive. He also likes to listen to Sam Cooke and to soul. Others are muddy waters or delta blues.

While in school, he did not like too much the school and he asked the dean to let him study only a part of the day and to go to casting office afterwards. He was working with Susan Shopmaker Casting and it is the place where he learnt more about acting and he was casted in the film Afterschool.

In Shameless, he wanted to play first as Ian since he taught he was more interesting and he decided to go for Lip when he read again through his character.

Jeremy Allen White had appeared in movies and tv shows and they include Beautiful Ohio, Conviction, After school, Speed of Life and Shameless. Other roles are to play in the Time Being where he played Gus and in the year 2013, he was in Bad Turn Worse and in Rob The Mob. He is of 1.78m for his height or 5 feet 10 inches.
