Jessica Steen

Jessica Steen was born on December 19, 1965, in Toronto, Canada. Her mother is also an actress, Joanna Noyes while her father Jan Steen is a director. The Canadian actress has both Scottish and Dutch blood in her veins. The woman is not a tall one since her height is only 5 feet and 5 inches (1.65 m).

Personal life

Besides her career in acting, Jessica is an active environmentalist and she also  supports animal rights. Steen has a certified license for diving and is knowledgeable in the arts of the circus. According to her profile, she can do stilt-walking and fire twirling, not to mention the ability to eat the flames. Jessica is represented by her good friend Don Buchwald, and she currently resides in the city of Los Angeles.

Career

The 50-year-old woman has starred in many different movies and TV shows. She began her career when she was 8 years old. Her first role was in TV series called The Sunrunners, a children's TV show where she also had her mother on set. In 1986, she took a role of Tracy Gordon in a movie called Young Again, where she portrayed Lindsay Wagner's daughter.

Her first real break was in the year 1989 when she appeared on a big screen in the musical called Sing as Hannah Gottschalk. The musical  was created by Dean Pitchford. In 1991, Jessica decided to move to New York. Thanks to the actress who had to leave on maternity Jessica got a role on Loving, a soap opera which was shown on ABC for 12 years. Thanks to her amazing performance she was noticed and got cast in a new series called Homefront. The story took place in the city of Cleveland after World War II. The show was known for its terrific writing, historical accuracies and a great cast of actors. Unfortunately, it only lasted for two years.

But this was not by any means the end for Jessica. In 1994, she got a new role. This time, it was in the series called Earth 2, a science fiction show produced by NBC.

1997 was the year Jessica Steen was awarded a role in Trial & Error, where she worked with such great people as Jeff Daniels. Not to mention the fact that she gave her first kiss on the screen to Michael Richards, also a star of the movie.

Her biggest role was probably in the year 1998, the year a little movie called Armageddon premiered. Jerry Bruckheimer was the one to recommend her to play a shuttle pilot. Though not the star of the movie, Jessica still gave a memorable performance.

The actress currently reprises a role of Eva Braden in a comedy show called Bullet in the Face and a gorgeous Lisa Stillman on Heartland.

Awards

The actress has received a couple of noticeable recognitions for her career in acting. In 1994, she was awarded the Gemini Award for the best actress for her role of Nora in Small Gifts.

In 2010, she was nominated for a Gemini award for her role on Flashpoint.

Jessica Steen still has a lot of acting to do to prove her names belongs in the stars. At the age of 50, the opportunities are a plenty for the woman and she should grab one when and if given a chance.
