Jimmie Lawrence Vaughan is an American artist. Born on 20 march, 1951 Vaughan was raised in Dallas, Texas, United States. His parents were Jimmie Lee Vaughan and Martha Jean Cook. Jimmie Vaughan brother late Stevie Ray Vaughn was the superb guitarist. Later in 1960s, Jimmie Vaughan moved to Austin and got chance to play with great musician Paul Ray and WC Clark. Vaughan was interested in playing guitar from his childhood. By the age of 15, he used to perform for the band but none of those got success. When he left the Dallas and moved to Austin, for the very first year he got many difficulties. He had perform in a variety of blues bar band. Jimmie was very hardworking and has dream of opening his own band.
Finally in 1972, he formed the band name” The Fabulous Thunderbird” with singer and harpist Kim Wilson, bassist Keith Ferguson and Mike Buck and Fran Christina. Jimmie Vaughan and his team release their first four album in between 1979 and 1983. These four album didn’t sell well and band was out of contract for couple of years. After the gap of 3 years, the fabulous thunderbird got new contract in 986. They made a several albums and was sell in millions of copies. Vaughan was quite disappointed with his band. He left the band in 1989 because of group musical direction and was frustrate as well. After leaving the band, he record his duet album called Family Style with his brother Stevin Ray Vaughan. But unfortunately, before the album’s release Stevin Ray Vaughan died in Helicopter crash on august 27, 1990. He was shocked with the news of his brother dead for a month.
The albums get release after the month of accident of his brother. His duet album gets huge response and it was sold in millions of copies. He take couples of years off after the death of his brother. In the memory of his brother Vaughan release his first solo album called Strange Pleasure. This album received good reviews and was sold highly. He started his solo albums career from then and mostly contain blue rock material which he writes himself.
