Jodelle Ferland began her career in front of the camera at just two years old, appearing in commercials on Canadian television. Her breakthrough came at the age of four when she starred in the television movie Mermaid, earning her a Daytime Emmy nomination and making her the youngest nominee in Emmy Award history. Following her acclaimed debut, Jodelle appeared in various TV shows such as Stargate Atlantis, Dark Angel, Smallville, and Supernatural.
She transitioned into films with supporting roles in They and Trapped. In 2005, she took on the lead role in Terry Gilliam’s fantasy-drama Tideland, for which she received significant critical attention. Although she was not awarded a Genie Award for the role, her performance was widely praised. She gained further recognition with her part in the horror film Silent Hill and later featured in the romantic comedy Good Luck Chuck. One of her most notable roles came in 2010 when she portrayed Bree Tanner in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the third installment of the wildly popular Twilight series.
Jodelle attended both elementary and secondary school in her hometown of Nanaimo, British Columbia. While she did not pursue higher education at a college or university, her early start in the entertainment industry and consistent work have contributed to a successful career.
Jodelle is the youngest of Marc and Valerie Ferland’s three children and values her family's support. Her parents have remained together, and she speaks fondly of their enduring relationship. Jodelle considers herself too young for marriage at this stage in her life and, though she has been in a relationship, she has no current plans to marry. In her limited free time, she enjoys activities such as cycling. Her schedule remains full due to her commitments in film and television.
