Jodi Applegate, born on May 2, 1964, grew up in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. She began her college education at Temple University in Philadelphia before transferring to New York University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in television and film.
In 2011, Jodi Applegate married Michael Kay, a well-known television broadcaster for the New York Yankees. Their wedding ceremony was officiated by former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani. Before entering the field of journalism, Applegate had a brief acting career.
