His father’s name is Jerry and his mother’s name is Angela. He is the fourth child of his parents. He studied at Neil Armstrong Grade School which is located at East Peoria. He grew his passion on sports from his very childhood. His father was his first coach for Basketball. After school, he went to Academy of Our Lady/Spalding Institute. Here, his sports career stated to bloom. He took his Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University and his subject was Industrial Engineering which makes him a very smart sportsman.


He started playing minor leagues and eventually he made his big debut in 1989 for Chicago Cubs. After that, he went to Colorado Rookies where he had stunning scores which brought him to the famous New York Yankee club in the year 1996. He also played for St. Louise Cardinals for brief period of time. He played 16 matches for them. His career statistics in baseball is amazing. After playing for a significant time as a player he started pursuing his broadcasting and coaching career. In this segment, he worked as a commentator for YES Network. After that he took the job as the ‘bench coach’ for the Yankees’. His managerial career started in 2005 as he was appointed as the manager for Florida Marlins. He is a passionate man about sports which got him into trouble for arguing with Florida Marlins owner and eventually fired. But window of opportunity opened up because after his job was over with Marlins, he was interviewed by the Yankees’ as their manager. He was a very good choice for the position and made a three years contract for a whopping 7.5 million dollars. Although the first year was not that successful but he proved his worth later. In 2010, he had his contract renewed for another three years and he is still the manager for the Yankees’ for $16,000,000. This is the part of the new contract he made in 2013 for another 4 years.
