He has three siblings- Sheri, Scott and Jerry. He was keenly interested in ice-hockey as he very fond of athletics. His interest in ice-hockey developed as it was best to play in winters. In the year 2010, Joe played in the Olympics and became the first ever player from ‘San Jose Sharks’ to play for the Olympics. ‘Sharks’ won the silver medal in the championship and Pavelski scored three assists in the tournament. He played an important role as a player from United States and was called ‘Swiss Army Knife’ by Brian Burke. The five feet eleven inches player from America was again selected for next Olympics in 2014.
