Red Hot Chili Peppers: Rise to Fame

Frusciante joined the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1988, first appearing on their fourth studio album Mother’s Milk. He played a pivotal role in the band’s fifth album, Blood Sugar Sex Magik (1991), which marked a major commercial breakthrough. However, the rapid rise in fame overwhelmed him, prompting his departure from the band in 1992.

Struggles and Reinvention

After leaving the band, Frusciante became increasingly reclusive and struggled with drug addiction. During this tumultuous period, he released two deeply personal solo albums: Niandra LaDes and Usually Just a T-Shirt (1994) and Smile From the Streets You Hold (1997).
