Jonathan Lucroy

Lucroy is Christian, born in Eustis, Florida, and raised in Umatilla, Florida. He has two brothers. His brother, Matthew, is an EMT/FF. His brother, David, played college baseball for East Carolina University and was drafted by the Brewers. His cousin, Jeremy Lucroy, also played baseball for the Ragin' Cajuns.

Marriage & Wife:

Jonathan Charles Lucroy is an American professional baseball catcher for the Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball. He is Gemini by the zodiac sign as he was born on June 13, 1986. He married Sarah Lucroy on 7th July, 2010. Being the wife of a professional baseball player, coach or staffer isn’t easy. In fact, it can be challenging at times. The wife of Jonathan Lucroy said in an interview “We first met when we were 19 at UL (University of Louisiana) with the Ragin’ Cajuns. He was playing baseball and I was in school for graphic design”.

Education & Awards:

Throughout his “Being a catcher era” he had some honor and his individual accolades include being named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American (2005), All-Sun Belt Conference (2005, 2007), Sun Belt Conference All-Tournament Team (2006), and Sun Belt Conference Academic Honor Roll (2006). His biography says that his number 6 jersey was retired on April 19, 2011 by the Umatilla High School.

Lucroy attended Umatilla High School in Umatilla, Florida. He attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for three years, and became one of the most successful players in Ragin' Cajuns history. Over his career, he set the school record in doubles (54), runs batted in (184), and total bases (414) as well as recording the second most career hits (241) in just three seasons.

Salary and Injury:

In 2014, Lucroy was an MLB All-Star and won the Fielding Bible Award. Lucroy has also filled in at first base for the Brewers. As of the year 2015 his salary is 3.3 million USD. According to an article by Todd Rosiak of the Journal Sentinel the three adjectives “disappointing, frustrating and depressing” best describe the 2015 session of Milwaukee Brewers and same could be said for Lucroy who followed up his first All-Star Game appearance in 2014 by playing in only 100 games (92 starts) because of a broken left big toe and then a concussion.

Rehabilitation from Injury:

On April 20, 2015, Lucroy was placed on the disabled list after his injury. After a rehab assignment with Brevard County Manatees, he was activated from the disabled list on June 1. He is having occasional appearances at first base because of that concussion. He sadly said in one of the interviews “Personally it's been very frustrating for me because I haven't been healthy all year and I haven't performed to the standards that I feel that I should perform at, that I know I can perform at."

It is clearly evident from his twitter bio that he is husband, father and receiver of baseballs and a strong supporter of all things military. His Milwaukee brewer’s jersey no is 20 and MLB statistics as through April 2016 says that his batting average is .282 with 66 home runs and 339 are the runs he batted in.
