Early Life and Education

Kaitlyn Olson was born in Portland, Oregon, and raised in the Pacific Northwest. She attended the University of Oregon, where she studied theater and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts in 1997. Following graduation, she relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting.

Television and Film Career

Olson’s early acting work included guest appearances on well-known television shows such as The Drew Carey Show, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Family Guy, and Punk'd. She also had a small role in the 2000 film Coyote Ugly.

In 2005, Olson began playing Deandra "Sweet Dee" Reynolds on the FX comedy series It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The show, known for its irreverent humor and ensemble cast, has achieved cult status and remains one of the longest-running live-action sitcoms in American television history.

Major Roles and Voice Work

In addition to her continued work on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Olson starred in the FOX sitcom The Mick, which aired from 2017 to 2018. In the series, she played Mackenzie "Mickey" Molng, an irresponsible aunt who becomes the guardian of her wealthy sister's children.

Olson is also a voice actor and has contributed to several animated series. She voices the character Helen in the animated sitcom Bob’s Burgers, adding to her versatility as a comedic performer.
