Kathleen was born in the town of Hamilton in Ontario and had a pretty good childhood. She went to the Hillfield Strathallan College which was a local private school. This is where she began to notice her increasing interest towards the acting profession. The fact that it was a private school also contributed because teachers were able to pay a lot more individual attention to children. As a result, she started acting classes at a very early age – she was only 10 years old.
She immediately started to get minor roles in the local theatre productions and she got her first televised appearance in “My Secret Identity” as a guest. This was a popular TV series in Canada and it ran on the air all the way from 1988 through 1991 and it also aired in the United State.
Career
Her career really took off back in 1990. This is due to the fact that she got to play the role of Tina Edison in the popular Canadian Sitcom “Maniac Mansion”. She had to play the eldest of a total of three children of Dr. Fred Edison, who was impersonated by actor Joe Flaherty. Her impressive acting and brilliant performance got her two nominations for “Young Artist” award. Nevertheless, she also appeared in some small movie productions and she got her debut on the big screen back in 1992 in “Blown Away” with Corey Haim and Nicole Eggert.
In 2001 she appeared on the comedy parody movie Scary Movie 2 but soon afterwards she started getting more serious acting roles. In 2002 she filmed XX/XY – an independent drama with Mark Ruffalo. She also got the role of Evelyn Dick this year in the movie Torso: The Evelyn Dick Story. It was definitely her sexy appeal that contributed for a variety of won roles.
