Modeling Career and Media Work
After finishing high school, Piper began a career in modeling. She quickly gained recognition in the glamour and promotional modeling scenes, taking part in various beauty pageants and modeling for national newspapers. Piper also worked as a ring girl at mixed martial arts events, which introduced her to a wide audience within the sports and entertainment industries.
The 2008 Acid Attack
In March 2008, Piper was the victim of a brutal acid attack orchestrated by her then-boyfriend, Daniel Lynch, whom she had met online and dated briefly. Two weeks into the relationship, Lynch subjected Piper to a violent assault, including physical and sexual abuse. Days later, Lynch persuaded her to meet at an internet café in Reading, Berkshire. There, a man named Stefan Sylvestre, hired by Lynch, threw sulfuric acid in her face.
The attack was captured on CCTV footage, and both Lynch and Sylvestre were later convicted. Lynch received a life sentence for his role in the assault, as did Sylvestre, although Sylvestre became eligible for parole after serving a minimum term.
