Born in July 17, 1986 in Atlanta, Georgia, Kayla McCall Tausche completed her high school studies at the Greater Atlanta Christian School. She studied at the University of North Carolina located in Chapel Hill, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in the year 2008. She graduated in Business journalism and international politics. She also received honors for her extensive research on methods used by international newspapers to report on the Hong Kong Handover. She is an avid marathon runner and is also a member of the Alumni board at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication in the University of California.

Kayla Tausche started her career as journalist with the Associated Press. She worked at the Brussels bureau. She later shifted to Bloomberg News, where she worked on the consumer and retail beat. She also did a short stint at DealReporter working as assistant editor for the publication owned by Financial Times. She covered acquisitions and mergers there. She joined CNBC in the year 2011. She reports on all NBC properties including MSNBC, Nightly News with Brian Williams, and Today. She also serves as fill in anchor for the shows Power Lunch, Squawk Box, and Squawk on the Street.
