Background

Kenny was born on April 10, 1970. He graduated from Howard University in Washington, DC, although he was not initially inclined towards music. His passion for music began while he was performing with his high school band at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Maryland. Growing up, he always had dreams of becoming a performer. He enjoyed listening to records of his favorite artists. He always knew he had a talent for music and the rhythm to create unique works. He was fond of the idea of creating and allowing others to hear his music.

One of his most memorable experiences as a child was admiring a local band and being asked to join them for a one-night gig at a local bar club. He eagerly accepted the offer and quickly realized how enjoyable it was. He mentioned Dr. Barbara Baker as having a major influence in his life. He was asked to give a speech at the 2005 graduation of his high school, which he gladly accepted. He spoke of knowing what he wanted in life and going for it, trying against the odds, and finding people to help him along the way.

Marriage, Divorce, and Kids

Kenny Lattimore and Chante Moore, an R&B singer most known for songs such as "Chante's Got a Man" and "Straight Up," were married in 2002. Their wedding was a private affair, with only a few family and friends in attendance in Jamaica on New Year's Day. They have a child together, Kenny Jr., who was born the following year. Initially, things were going well for the couple, but eventually, their marriage hit a rough patch. After nine years, the issues they were having could not be resolved, and they split up. The reasons for their divorce are not very clear, though a private source has suggested that Kenny cheated on Moore and that she did not want to be a thorn in his life, so she left him. Kenny has revealed that he wishes he had tried harder to keep the relationship going by talking more and being more of a team.

After Kenny and Moore's break-up, there was a rumor about Kenny's sexuality. People thought he was gay. He talked about the hilarity of the stories and claimed that it shouldn't matter whether he was or wasn't to his fans and to people who aren't even part of his life in any way.

Chante Moore was open about their divorce from the start. Moore revealed the split via an announcement on Facebook. She wanted to tell her fans that she didn't want them to get a mixed and muddled up story of her divorce. Moore told her fans that she usually didn't talk about her personal life, but this was an exception, and she wanted them to get authentic information rather than a distorted story. She told her fans that they would continue to play the role of devoted parents for their son.

Before she married Kelly, she had been married to actor Kadeem Hardison. She has a daughter with Hardison named Sophia, who was born in 1996. Chante and Hardison had gotten married secretly in 1997, but they got divorced in 2000. Soon after, she met Kenny.

On March 8, 2020, Lattimore married American judge Faith Jenkins.

Career

Some of Kenny's most popular songs are "For You" and "Never Too Busy." He has sung many songs with his ex-wife Chante Moore. Their album "Uncovered/Covered" was a big hit, reaching #10 on the Billboard Rhythm and Blues chart and #2 on the gospel charts.

He wanted to create a solo record, and he did so with the album Timeless, which was released on September 9, 2008. The top single on the album was "You Are My Starship" and was the album's most significant hit. In 2012, he started his own record company, something he had wanted to do since he was a young child. He released an album under his own record company, titled Back 2 Cool, in January of 2013. The album's first single was its most famous track, titled "Find A Way".
