Chanté Moore is known as an American R&B singer. She is most famous for her songs Love's Taken Over, Chante's Got a Man, and It's Alright.
Chanté Torrane Moore was born on February 17, 1967, in San Francisco, California. Chanté was raised as a Christian Evangelist and grew up singing in the church.
Chanté had success outside of the music industry as well. Chanté published an autobiographical self-help book in 2014 titled “Will I Marry Me?” It was in this book that she made public that her first marriage was to a childhood friend whom she had dated in the sixth grade. She also stated that she had her first kiss at the age of thirteen. An adaptation of this book was produced as a one-woman show by Cheryl Cobb Debrosse, Chanté’s manager, in 2015
In 1996, Chanté had a daughter named Sophia Hardison with Kadeem Hardison. They had secretly married in 1997 but were divorced in 2000.
On New Year's Day in 2002, Chanté married singer Kenny Lattimore in a private ceremony held in Jamaica. Their son, Kenny Jr. was born on April 10, 2003. In a July 27, 2011 statement on her Facebook page, Chanté announced that she and Kenny Lattimore had been divorced.
Chanté said that her separation and subsequent divorce from Kenny was due to his overt sexuality. She said that she was uncomfortable talking about the specifics of their relationship. Chanté said that she did not want to talk about him because of their ongoing custody battle. She said that she had expressed things about their relationship in her album, “Moore is More’” and said that she was more comfortable singing about her feelings then she was talking about them.
