Kevin started his long term professional career when he passed out of his graduation college. He signed a contract with Boston Red Sox in the year 2004 and continued to play on for them till 2012, the longest he has played for any team. He won the team many championships and he himself won many awards there giving strong performances. He later on joined the team Chicago White Sox in 2012, however played for them for only 1 year and joined New York Yankees in 2013. He in the later phase of his career joined Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles and is still associated with them. He has won many awards in the past throughout his professional career including ‘All-Star awards’, ‘World Series champion’, ‘Gold Glove Award’ and ‘AL Hank Aaron Award’.
