Although Lauren has an active Twitter with over 43,000 followers, Facebook with over 25,000 followers, and Instagram with almost 18,000, she tends to keep the innermost details of her personal life away from the spotlight. One thing she has opened up about was meeting her husband, Mark Cubrilo. Mark currently works as a satellite engineer for the Fox News Channel, where they first met. They had never connected on a personal level, however, until an ill-fated dinner party. Mark had organized the event and invited the entire work staff, but only Mark and Lauren had attended. It was not a trick: the other staff canceled due to various personal and work related reasons, leaving Mark and Lauren to an awkward meal together.
Upon leaving dinner, they realized that it was Halloween night, which may plausibly account for so many of their coworkers' absences. They saw a group of college students, asked them for their costumes, and had an evening of playful fun. They unofficially became a couple that night. After a few weeks, Mark's older brother met her at a gathering and broke the secret that Mark had a crush on her. They had their first date under the pretext of 'just lunch.' After a series of these dates, strolls in the park, and museum visits, the relationship turned serious. Days after Lauren's birthday, Mark asked her hand in marriage at a private dinner. Six months later they were married on October 1, 2001 in Crystal Plaza, Livingston, New Jersey. They traveled to Tanzania and Zanzibar, Africa for their honeymoon. She has been quoted saying that her husband has very good taste in travel destinations.
When asked what she finds most attractive in her husband, she has stated that he is selfless, caring, and has a true understanding of the meaning of the term “busy.” Her Instagram profile states: "I'll sleep when I'm dead." Mark understands that his wife has a busy schedule, and the flexibility of their relationship affords them the opportunity to travel frequently to exotic locations. Lauren also volunteers her time to numerous charity organizations including NephCure Kidney International. She is also a member of the New York Financial Writer's Association. Lauren and Mark currently reside in Manhattan and have one daughter together, Rae Vivian, with another child due in Spring.
Lauren's advice to the next generation of journalists? In HudsonMOD magazine, she stated the following: "I always tell our interns and production assistants to wait. The magic age is around 30. It's hard to have credibility when you're so young. I say be patient, ask plenty of questions and always volunteer to do more!" When asked where she would like to see herself in 10 years, she responded "Happy!"
