Leslie Odom Jr. is an American actor and jazz singer best known for his acclaimed portrayal of Aaron Burr in the Broadway musical Hamilton. He was born on August 6, 1981, in Queens, New York. During his childhood, Odom's family relocated to the East Oak Lane neighborhood of Philadelphia. He attended the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts, where he nurtured his passion for the performing arts. Raised in a religious household, his family were members of Canaan Baptist Church in Germantown, where he frequently performed solos in the church choir.

Career Beginnings and Broadway Debut
