Lexa Doig is a Canadian actress known for her roles in Andromeda, Jason X, and Friday the 13th. Alexandra Lecciones Doig was born June 8, 1973 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She was a childhood gymnast and became interested in acting at age 9 after watching a theater production of Porgy and Bess. At age 16 she was offered modelling representation and ultimately dropped out of high school to further her career. She was invited to co-host the Canadian game show Video & Arcade Top 10 from 1991-2006. Her first on screen television acting role was in The Hidden Room in 1993, and her first film was Jungleground in 1995. Her success, however, came from her multiple roles in the sci-fi television series Andromeda from 2000-2005. She met her husband, actor Michael Shanks, on set in 2001.
They married on August 2, 2003 and have two children together, as well as a child from Shanks' previous relationship. Together they are actively involved with the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. Doig appeared on Stargate SG-1 for two years from 2005-2007 and appeared on Continuum from 2012-2015. She currently has a recurring role in the television series Arrow and a main role in The Arrangement.
