Liza Weil is an American actress and comedian who was born on June 5, 1977, in Passaic, New Jersey, to Lisa and Marc Weil. She was raised in a family of actors who practiced the religion Reform Judaism. When she was a young girl, Weil wanted to become an archaeologist after she became inspired by the Indiana Jones films. When she was seven-years-old, her family relocated to suburban Lansdale, Pennsylvania where she attended North Penn High School. After her schooling, Weil pursued a career in acting and traveled back and forth between New York City for auditions. She also acted in stage productions both off-Broadway and in Philadelphia's theatrical community. Weil went on to pursue a career in film and television. Weil landed her first television role in 1994 when she was cast in an episode called "Yellow Fever" in the series "The Adventures of Pete & Pete".

She also plays the role of Paris Geller in the film follow-up called "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" which released on Netflix.
