Louie Anderson

Louie Perry Anderson is a professional American actor, television host as well as a successful stand-up comedian. He is currently 62 years old and he was born on the 24th of March back in 1953. His home town is Minneapolis which is located in the state of Minnesota in the United States of America. He has had an extensive acting and comedian career which kicked off back in 1984 and goes on to present days. He’s appeared in a variety of movies and TV shows and he has even created and produced some of them.

Early life

Despite of being born in Minneapolis, Louie Anderson actually grew up in the city of St. Paul. His comic talent manifested really early on in his age and his talent wasn’t left unnoticed.

However, the interesting fact is that he had a huge family. He is the second-youngest children of a total of 11 kids in his family. When he was a teenager he attended the Johnson Senior High and he started to develop his career afterwards. He pursued his comic career and it wasn’t long before the results started to show up. As up to this moment, he is estimated to have a net worth of approximately $1.5 million.

Professional career

Anderson began his career as a stand-up comedian and he got his debut back in 1984 on the famous The Tonight Show. The following year he got the role of Lou Appleton and he played alongside famous Bronson Pinchot on the first piloting episode of Perfect Strangers aired on the ABC network. Once the show picked up, he got replaced because the producers didn’t think that the teamwork between him and Pinchot was going to work out.

Back in 1987, Anderson appeared on Showtime which was a comedy special. He also got a role in Coming to America which featured incredibly popular Hollywood superstar and one of the greatest comedians of all time – Eddie Murphy. He got incredibly popular throughout the animated series that he created and also produced back in 1995. The show was called Life with Louie and it aired on Sunday mornings. It was also loosely based on his wife with 10 siblings. It also covered the parts in which he was heavily picked on because of his weight and also how he used the comedy in order to get out of complex situations. This particular show was a hit on Fox and it aired for 3 whole seasons which got him two Emmy Awards for the category of an Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program.

He also created and actually starred in The Louie Show for the CBS network which unfortunately got only six episodes before its cancellation.

Personal life

He’s also got a lot of adventures in his personal life. Back in the days he married his high-school girlfriend but their marriage only lasted for four weeks. Back in the 1990s Anderson was actually blackmailed by a person by the name of Richard Gordon who extorted money from him, threatening to reveal personal information regarding Anderson. He actually paid him $100,000 but when the ransom increased to $250,000 again in the year 2000, Anderson alarmed the police and Gordon was arrested.
