Louise Maria Perkins was born on September 13, 1970, in the Redbridge district of London, England. She was the fifth of seven children in a large and close-knit family. At the age of eight, Louise began taking drama classes, which sparked her lifelong passion for acting.
She attended Trinity Catholic High School, a well-regarded Roman Catholic institution. Later, between 1998 and 2000, she pursued a degree in English Literature at Cambridge University, completing her studies while already active in her acting career.
Louise began her professional acting career in 1989, appearing in the TV film The Forgotten. In the following years, she secured minor roles in various British television series, including The Bill, Perfect Scoundrels, and Casualty.
