Lynette Nusbacher was born on December 17, 1966, in New York as Aryeh Judah Schoen Nusbacher. She has an American nationality and is of the Caucasian white ethnicity. Nusbacher learned about military history at the University of Toronto and acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Economics in 1988. From that point on, she continued her education at the Royal Military College where she acquired a comprehensive knowledge of military intelligence and management. She was granted a Master of Arts degree in War Studies in 1994.
