Malcom Farr biography, age, career

Malcom Farr was born August 2, 1951. He has worked for several Australian publications. He worked in Canberry for 26 years, including time with the Sydney Daily Telegraph. He also worked for Brisbane newspapers (The Australian, Brisbane Sun), and Sydney newspapers (The Australian, Daily Mirror, and Telegraph. He worked for the Australian in Melbourne, as well, and the International Daily News in Rome. He frequently appears on the current political programs Meet the Press on Network Ten and ABC TV's Insiders.

He also served as the President of the Federal Parliamentary Press Gallery from 2001 until 2005. During that time he assisted in creating the Gallery's Mid-Winter Ball which has raised more than $3 million dollars for charities since its inception. From 1999 to 2004 he was chairman of the Walkley Foundation Board and from 2005-2015 was the chief judge of the Walkey non-fiction book award. He is currently the National Political Editor for News.com.au and is a contributing writer to The Punch.
