Meredith was the presenter of a TV program called Intimate Portrait. The documentary series was famous for highlighting successful women and their stories. It included women from all walks of life including sports, science, and entertainment. The show would try to give the viewer a deep look into the women’s lives by interviewing the family and people closest to them. Meredith was proud to be part of a show that tried to put women under a positive spotlight.   

Meredith got married to her husband, Richard M Cohen in 1986. The loving couple has stayed married to each other for over two decades. There has never been any hint on divorce in their relationship. Their marriage has been made stronger by the obstacles they have had to overcome. For 30 years, her husband Richard has lived and suffered from the condition known as multiple sclerosis.

Richard is legally blind and the MS disease has started to affect his vocal cords and limbs. His former girlfriend abandoned him, when he revealed that he had MS to her. It is sad and unfortunate but it is common for people to leave their loved ones when tragedy strikes. Richard’s ex girlfriend might have been too young and immature to accept Richard’s fate. She was scared and did the only thing she felt comfortable doing when she decided to leave Richard.

Meredith was a different beacon of light for Richard. While his ex girlfriend left him when he revealed his condition, Meredith stood by his side. Meredith could empathize with Richard because she also had to deal with a serious health condition. She was diagnosed with colon cancer and had it removed twice. Meredith and Richard have a very honest and open relationship where they tell each other everything without fear. Richard no longer has to worry about his lover leaving him no matter how bad things get.

Meredith has said that there are a lot of things that made her marriage as strong as a rock. One of the most important things in their relationship is there shared sense of humor. Meredith and Richard love to have fun with each other no matter how old they get. They like to do simple funny thing like poke each other randomly. They also like to include their three children in the fun.

Even though Meredith have a very loving relationship, there were some unfortunate rumors about Meredith having a secret relationship with the famous TV personality, Matt Lauer. There were a lot of pictures which hinted at them having an intimate relationship. The pictures were taken at Matt’s birthday party and caused a lot of whispers because of the content. The pictures showed Vieira smearing some cream on Matt’s nose while he was laughing. Some people automatically assumed that they were flirting while others guessed that they were just friends having fun.
