There were no comments from Matt or Meredith about the controversial pictures. They both refused to address the rumors. It was speculated that Matt’s spouse had applied for a divorce but delayed the proceedings when she found that she was pregnant with his child. It was rumored that Meredith was his back up girl that he would start a new relationship with if his marriage ended up in divorce. Nothing came out of Meredith’s and Matt’s supposed fling. The only thing the media knows now is that Matt and Meredith have remained good friends.

Since he is not able to physically satisfy Meredith on a regular basis, she may have had to look elsewhere to fulfil her female desires. Their close friends claimed that the pictures did not have a lot of effect on their relationship. Richard believed his wife and there were no arguments between them on the nature of the pictures. The pictures did not cause any rift between them. While some assume that there would be talks of divorce, the talks never came. In the end, it was either pure speculation from the media or just a small thing between friends that got blown out of proportion.

There was no concrete evidence that Meredith was dating Matt or anyone during her relationship with Richard. Richard has been never available for any comments on the rumors. He has bigger things to deal with than silly rumors about his marriage. He loves his wife dearly and trusts her completely. She stuck with him through hard times and it would be out of character for her to betray his trust. Meredith loves to talk a lot about Richard all the time, both in a humorous way and also on a serious note. Their children are invisible to the media because their parents want to shield them from the public eye. Richard was never seen with any girl, who can be tagged as a secret lover. Even if he did have desire for any extra relationship, his condition would make it really difficult to do so. He was never accused of cheating on Meredith and would be a fool to do so because of all the things she has done for him. The only negative point she ever mentioned about him was during the hardest parts of his sickness. She said he became very angry and out of control but that was to be expected because of the issue he was dealing with.
