American actress and singer Miranda Taylor Cosgrove was born on May 14, 1993, in Los Angeles, California, to a dry-cleaning business owner father and a homemaker mother. She was discovered at the age of three while singing and dancing at the Los Angeles restaurant Taste of L.A. Shortly after, she began appearing in television commercials for brands such as McDonald's and Mello Yello.

Acting Career Beginnings

Cosgrove made her television debut at the age of seven, voicing a young character in the show Smallville. However, her breakthrough role came in the 2003 film School of Rock, where she portrayed Summer Hathaway, the assertive and intelligent band manager alongside Jack Black. The film's success helped launch her into mainstream fame and set the foundation for a flourishing entertainment career.

Television Success and Film Appearances

Miranda continued her success on television with prominent roles in Nickelodeon's Drake & Josh and later as the lead character, Carly Shay, in the hit series iCarly, which significantly elevated her popularity. She also starred in Crowded, a sitcom on NBC.
