At the very beginning of her career, she used to write scripts for the Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. She was even seen in British Sitcoms. However, these small appearances in British Sitcoms like ‘Hyperdrive’, ‘Not Going Out’ etc. has not been able brought her fame in the acting world. It is with Sitcom Miranda, a self-driven autographical sitcom based on her radio show Miranda hart’s Joke shop, that she has been able to gain high audience praise and acclaim. Apart from this television program, she is a part of many other movies and TV shows that has increased with time as per her popularity. Currently, she does not have the time to take part in BBC drama ‘Call the Midwife’ as she has become one of the leading faces in the film industry.

She has been a part of television serials like ‘French and Saunders’, ‘Absolutely Fabulous’, ‘Nighty Nigh’t as well as in the ‘Vicar of Dibley’, a new year special drama. However, it is a matter of fact that the roles in this TV serials and feature films were too small to earn her publicity. However, apart from the TV series as ‘Call the Midwife’ that brought her fame and publicity, she got her biggest breakthrough in form ‘Nancy B. Artingstall’, character in the Hollywood film ‘Spy’ in the year 2015. Getting a chance in this film has made her schedule busy and increased her income largely. In this film, Melisa McCarthy is her partner.

Apart from being a good actress and comedian, she is a very good writer. She has written some part of ‘Smock the Pony’ and acted in it. It was revealed in late 2011 that she is writing a book called ‘Is it Just Me?’ This book came in 2012 that contained small stories amalgamated with life advice in a typical Miranda style. Her second book ‘Peggy and Me’ that even announced to be published in 2013, finally came into the market was a hit.  She even published a compilation script derived from the TV series, Miranda in the name of the ‘Best of Miranda’. Apart from acting in Movies and TV shows, writing books, she has been a part of many radio shows and live performances that shows her ability of acting and entertains people. 

There is not much news about her personal life. She is a pleasing personality with an urge to help others. She has collected money for sports relief. Due to her popularity in the recent times, she gets higher attention from the media. However, the media is yet to discover the beloved person of Miranda. She is not married yet as far as the media coverage confirms.
