Venturing into theater, Saylor made her stage debut with the Manhattan Theatre Club, playing the role of Penny in Sarah Treem’s When We Were Young and Unafraid, directed by Pam MacKinnon. In 2014, she starred as Gracie Highsmith in Jamie Marks Is Dead, a film adaptation of Christopher Barzak’s novel One for Sorrow. The film was directed by Carter Smith.
Saylor continued to build her résumé with roles in several feature films. In 2015, she played Julie, the daughter of Kevin Costner’s character, in the sports drama McFarland, USA. She also starred as Leah in the independent drama White Girl, directed and written by Elizabeth Wood. Additionally, she appeared in Rob Reiner's film Being Charlie, acting alongside Common and Nick Robinson.
Saylor attended Montessori schools until eighth grade and later graduated from high school in 2013. She then moved to the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, where she lived with her boyfriend and brother. She has been in a relationship since 2012. Both she and her brother have matching anchor tattoos—hers is located near her left ear, while his is on his forearm.
Outside of acting, Morgan Saylor enjoys rock climbing and had expressed an intention to study mathematics at the University of Chicago, beginning in the fall of 2015. Her relocation to Atlanta during her youth provided her with expanded opportunities to engage in theater, helping to shape her early passion for acting.
