According to his biography, he was born in Washington, in the city of Seattle. He is an eldest child in the family of five children but he has older half siblings from the first marriage of his father.

When he was 11 years old, he started with his acting career for Christmas Carol of Charles Dickens. In the year 2008, the theater friend suggested to the parents of Robinson that he has to meet Matt Casella who is a Hollywood talent scout. After meeting Casella, he proposed some agencies to him and decided to join The Savage Agency in the Los Angles. However, during that time, there Writers Guild of America Strike was in the full swing and together with his parents, they have to return to Washington and he continued performing on the stage in or around Seattle.

In the year 2009, after the second audition of second television audition, he got the role of playing as Ryder Scanlon and he was a nephew for the character of Melissa Joan Harts.

In the year 2011, he went to a hiatus away of Melissa & Joey. He began filming for Disney Channels called Frenemies together with other Disney stars like Zendaya and Bella Thorne who were in Shake Up. He was playing in a role of Jake Logan and the movie started in Frenemies in 2012.

Robinson played as Joe Toy for The Kings of Summer. He filmed Boardwalk Empire and played Rowland Smith. He was young thief and played a thief who stores the liquor shipment of Nucky Thompson. He was in the episode that was called Blue Bell Boy. In 2012, he starred in the series of the television commercials of Cox Communication and it was called Buffer Time is Bonding Time. The new series started to air in 2012.

In the year 2013, he was the cast of Jurassic World and it was the fourth installment of Jurassic Park franchise. He was a co-star in Ty Simpkins and he was playing the pair brothers who went to visit the aunt. Nick Robinson had played Ben Parish in a film adaptation called the 5th Wave and it was released in 2016. He is expected to appear in many new movies and tv shows which are Being Charlie and comedy called Krystal.
