Patricia Velasquez’s full name is Patricia Carola Velasquez Semprun and was born in the year 1971. She is fashion model and actress of Venezuelan origins. She is from Maracaibo in Venezuela and she is the fifth in the six children and her parents are Venezuelan. Her father is a mestizo while the mother is the member of indigenous Wayuu people. The parents worked as teachers and the father was working for UNESCO and this is why she spent most of the childhood in France and Mexico. She went to San Vicente de Paul High School and graduated in the year 1987. In the year 1989, she was a participant in the Miss Venezuela and she was placed like a 2nd runner-up. After 3 years of the college studies, she left to go to Milan in Italy so that in the pursuit of modeling career.

She was requested to have special appearance in the Breaking The Girl video for Red Hot Chili Peppers which is an alternative rock band. Velasquez was the player for the Character of Begona on different episodes for the L Word in the fifth season. She played in a recurring role at the television series called Arrested Development and she is playing the role of Marta Estrella. She appeared as a guest at CSI: Miami for an episode known as From The Grave. She has a recurring role in the movie Rescue me where she plays as the ex-girlfriend of Franco and the mother of his daughter Keela. The latest role was in Ugly Betty. Patricia Velasquez is the founder of Wayuu Taya Foundation which is a nonprofit organization and it was dedicated in assisting Wayuu, an indigenous group in Venezuela. She helped to raise the money to help the people of Haiti after the earthquake. She is fluent in Spanish, Italian, French and English. She has written an autobiography called Straight Walk and she was discussing about how she grew up in poverty when she was in Venezuela and how she realized that she was a lesbian from her relationship with Sandra Bernhard.
