Peter Capaldi is a Scottish actor, writer, and director who was born on April 14, 1958, in Glasgow, Scotland to his mother Nancy and his father Gerald John Capaldi. He attended St. Teresa's Primary School in Possilpark, St. Mathew's Primary School in Bishopbriggs, and St. Ninian's High School. After graduating high school, Capaldi attended the Glasgow School of Art. From an early age, Capaldi displayed a talent for performance and even put on a puppet show in primary school.
During his high school years, he was a member of the Antonine Players, who performed at the Fort Theater. When he was attending art school, he was also the lead singer and guitarist for a punk rock band named "The Dreamboys". The drummer of "The Dreamboys" is none other than comedian Craig Ferguson. Capaldi has had a long career in film with appearances in over 40 films and television shows. His first role was Danny Oldsen in "Local Hero" in 1983. He even played Beatles member George Harrison in the film "John and Yoko: A Love Story" in 1985 where he got to combine two of his passions at once. Capaldi married in 1991 in Glasgow to Elaine Collins, an actress, and writer. Most recently he has been involved with charity work with Cate Blanchett and other prominent actors for the United Nations' refugee agency UNHCR.
