Peter Capaldi is a Scottish actor, writer, and director born on April 14, 1958, in Glasgow, Scotland. He is the son of Nancy Capaldi and Gerald John Capaldi. He attended St. Teresa's Primary School in Possilpark, followed by St. Matthew's Primary School in Bishopbriggs, and later St. Ninian's High School. Demonstrating an early interest in performance, Capaldi once organized a puppet show during his time in primary school.

After completing secondary school, he enrolled at the Glasgow School of Art, where he further developed his artistic skills. While in high school, Capaldi joined the Antonine Players, a local theater group that performed at the Fort Theatre. While attending the Glasgow School of Art, Capaldi explored his love for music by becoming the lead singer and guitarist for a punk rock band called The Dreamboys. Capaldi began his professional film career in 1983, making his debut as Danny Oldsen in the critically acclaimed film "Local Hero." In 1985, he portrayed George Harrison in the television film "John and Yoko: A Love Story," a role that allowed him to blend his acting abilities with his passion for music.

In 1991, Peter Capaldi married actress and writer Elaine Collins in Glasgow. The couple has maintained a strong personal and professional partnership over the years.

Beyond his work in film and television, Capaldi is also committed to humanitarian causes. He has recently collaborated with fellow actors, including Cate Blanchett, in supporting the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), using his public profile to raise awareness about global refugee issues.
