Acting career

In 1981, Fort Apache the Bronx was released which was a cold and brutal film involving the police and criminals. She took the role of a tough cop which gave her a great boost as an actor. Her biggest break came about when she appeared in Total Recall alongside the legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1990. Apparently they had some serious beef with co-actor Sharon Stone in the film.

Another film where she brought out the real actor that she is, was the 1997, ‘Con Air’. She was the tough prison gourd. Acting tough, she has appeared in several scenes including; ‘Thicker than Blood’, ‘crime and punishment’ as a smart detective and ‘prison stories’.

At the turn of the century, she still continues to display her assertive roles and has appeared in several films alongside other seasoned actors. In 2004, she appeared with Denzel Washington in the movie Man on Fire. She also appeared in ‘Something’s gotta Give’ with actor Jack Nicholson. Other appearances have been in ‘American Family’ and ‘Ohara’.

Family Life

Just the same way she acts tough, it is rumored she is tough in real life. Rachel has not avoided the drama that follows the movie stars. She has been married twice and she has only one child. She met fellow actor and first husband David Caruso in 1983 and got married the same year. They were blessed with a daughter Greta Caruso. Later on their relationship started getting rocky and in 1989, the decided to call it quits and divorced.

She stayed alone for quite a while until in 1998; she met Peter Strauss when they were casting the movie ‘Thicker than Blood’. Luckily this seemed to work as they are still together up to date. She is famed as stating that she is more interested in life than her career. It’s not like she does not like to work but rather she does not let her work overshadow her life.

Her Income

Rachel’s net worth is not really known but according to the roles she has been playing, she must be getting a really good salary. Over the years, and all the movies she has appeared in should make her worth millions of dollars. She has been one of the few women who can actually fit in a strong and tough female role. Perhaps it’s because she grew up in the Bronx, one of the toughest neighborhoods known in New York.

Rachel does not seem to age and her role still needs her in the movies. She should continue to get quite a good income in the time to come.
