Rebecca Jarvis is an American journalist who serves as the chief business, economics and technology correspondent for ABC news. Rebecca is also the creator, host, and managing editor of the television show, Real Biz with Rebecca Jarvis. Rebecca Ann Jarvis was born on September 28, 1981, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her father is a Chicago lawyer and her mother writes a nationally syndicated financial column for the Chicago Tribune.
Rebecca attended St. Paul Academy and Summit School before matriculating at the University of Chicago where she studied economics. She also studied international economics and business at Sciences Po (The Paris Institute of Political Studies) and Paris Dauphine University, both located in Paris, France. Rebecca has work as an investment banking analyst for Banc of America Securities in Chicago and as a short-term interest trader on the Citigroup foreign exchange desk in London. In 2006, she went to work for CNBC as an associate reporter covering the NASDAQ and NYMEX. Rebecca Jarvis joined CBS news in 2010 working as a financial reporter before becoming the co-anchor of CBS This Morning Saturday Show. Jarvis joined ABC News in 2013. Rebecca Jarvis married Matthew Hanson, an investment banker, on January 28, 2012, in Minnesota.
