Early life and education

Rebecca was born and also grew up in Berkeley, California. Her mother is an instructor in a Community College where she teaches English as a second language. Rebecca’s father – Jaap manufactures custom furniture pieces. Her father was born in the Netherlands, while her mother is an American. They met when they were on an exchange program while they were students.

Romijn is well known for her outstanding appearances and astonishing look. However, when she was a guest on the show of Ellen DeGeneres she shared she was indeed an insecure teen while growing up. Rebecca began her modeling career back in 1991. She used to be a model for a variety of magazines such as Sports Illustrated – the Swimsuit Issue as well as Victoria’s Secret, bebe. She worked for famous fashion designers like Anna Molinari as well as with Giorgio Armani. From 1998 up until 2000 she was the host of the House of Style show on MTV.

When it comes to her acting career, Rebecca is best known for her role as Mystique in Marvel’s X-men.
