This was the first serious relationship she had after getting divorced from her ex husband, Ian. She loved Malcolm very seriously and never wanted to part with him. When asked about the reason for the break, Warner said that he wanted to protect his privacy but still was willing to share the details. On September 17, 2018 Regina won an Emmy Award that she did not expect to win. After all the heartbreak she had gone through in her life, she was finally destined for some good fortune. The audience was very excited for her shocking win. She was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her excellent role in the Netflix produced show, Seven Seconds.
Regina could not hold in her happiness as she took the stage to accept her trophy, “Wow, I didn’t have nothing to say because I wasn’t really expecting this, but I am so grateful Television Academy. Y’all are my friends, my peers. Thank you, thank you, thank you,” King said in her acceptance speech. “This is amazing. I wanna curse right now. This is good.”
After a long career, Regina had won three Emmys which a huge accomplishment for an African American female actress. In Hollywood, there aren’t that many opportunities for black females to succeed. Regina is one of the few black women that Hollywood trusts to be the lead of a TV show. She has earned that respect after years of hard work and iconic roles in various TV shows and films.
