Gonzalez attended local schools in Brooklyn for both elementary and high school. From a young age, he showed a strong interest in acting, often participating in school plays and performing impressions of family members and friends. Recognizing his potential, his teachers encouraged him to pursue a career in acting. He took their advice to heart and successfully applied to the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, located in Manhattan's Lincoln Square. After graduating in 1997, Gonzalez began actively pursuing work as a professional actor.
