Riyad Mahrez is a professional footballer who plays winger for Manchester City in the Premier League, the top level of the English football league system. Riyad Karim Mahrez was born on February 21, 1991, in Sarcelles, France; his father was Algerian and his mother was of Algerian descent. Riyad Mahrez would regularly go on holidays with his family to Algeria during his childhood years. Riyad joined AAS football club in 2004 when he was thirteen years old. In 2009 he joined Championnatt de France Amateur (CFA) side Quimper making twenty two appearances in his first year with the club. Riyad made his Premiere League debut in 2014 as part of the Leicester team. Riyad was nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award scoring four goals in the opening four games of the 2015–16 season.
Riyad Mahrez signed a five year contract with Manchester City with a transfer fee of sixty million pounds, making him the highest paid African footballer. Riyad Mahrez married his English girlfriend (who has been dubbed a Kim Kardashian look-a-like), Rita Johal, in 2015. The couple has a daughter.
