She has 3 siblings, and she is the youngest among them. She was passionate about dancing as well as acting from a very young age. After school, she went to the University of Puerto Rico. She followed in their footsteps of her father and studied marketing. This decision, however, was forced upon her and instead of completing the course, she left the university after three years. She went to New York in 1991 to start learning acting and dancing. She was only 18 years old then.

Next year, she came back to Puerto Rica. She debuted in a movie called “Captain Ron” the same year, where she played the role of an island girl. She was the co-host of a show called “QuéVacilón”, which earned her a lot of fans in Puerto Rico. She also won several awards during this time, including the “Miss Puerto Rico Petite” award as well as “Miss American Petite” next year. The later award was crucial to her career, since it brought her a lot of fame worldwide.

She played the role of Isabella Molina, who was an undercover agent for the CIA and a lover of Jackie Chan in the movie “Rush Hour 2”. This movie was released in 2001 and was a massive box-office hit. She acted in several hit movies in the next few years such as “Chasing Papi”, “Edison” etc. She earned the role in the TV series “Without a Trace”, where she played the role of an agent from 2005 to 2009. She also got a role in the TV series “Devious Maids” in 2012. However, due to certain unavoidable circumstances, the series was delayed by a year, and the pilot episode was shown on ABC in 2012. She played the main role in a movie named “Yellow”, which was based on her own life and how she came from Puerto Rico to America and became an actress.

She also earned a lot of fame for her singing. Her first album, “Borinqueña” was released in 2003. “Amor Amor”, a song from that album, was praised worldwide. It was even nominated for the Latin Grammy award. She has made several appearances in other music videos in the following years.

Rosalyn married actor Gary Stretch in 1998, but they got divorced in 2001. Soon after her divorce, she went into a relationship with Victor Manuelle, a salsa singer from Puerto Rico. But their relationship lasted only 4 years, it ended in 2005. 3 years later, in 2008, she married actor Eric Winter. Her husband asked her hand in marriage in 2007, while they were on a kayak in Puerto Rico. She gave birth to their first child, Sebella Rose in 2012.
