In 1992, Sánchez returned to Puerto Rico and made her acting debut in the film Captain Ron, portraying an island girl. Shortly afterward, she gained popularity as a co-host on the popular Puerto Rican television show Qué Vacilón. Her charisma and talent quickly made her a fan favorite in her home country.

That same year, she won the title of Miss Puerto Rico Petite, and the following year she was crowned Miss America Petite. The international exposure provided by these pageants helped launch her into broader fame and played a key role in her transition to Hollywood.

Breakthrough Roles and Hollywood Career

Sánchez's breakthrough in Hollywood came with her role as Isabella Molina in the 2001 box-office hit Rush Hour 2, where she played a CIA undercover agent and the love interest of Jackie Chan’s character. The film's massive success brought her widespread recognition. She went on to appear in several other films, including Chasing Papi (2003), Boat Trip (2002), and Edison (2005).

From 2005 to 2009, she starred in the popular CBS crime drama Without a Trace, where she portrayed FBI Special Agent Elena Delgado. Her role in this series further cemented her status as a consistent performer on American television.
