Ruta Lee is known as a Canadian-American actress and dancer. She is most famous for showing up as one of the ladies in the popular musical, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

Ruta Lee was born on May 30, 1935 in Montréal, Québec, Canada as Ruta Mary Kilmonis. Although she is North American, her parents’ roots are from Lithuania and she speaks the language fluently with ease.

Career

In her long career as an actress, she is well known for her roles in Witness for the Prosecution (1957), Funny Face (1957) and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954). In 1957, she got the honor of being named the Hollywood Deb Star.

She cherishes the fact that fans remember her famous TV series episode, The Twilight Zone: A Short Drink from a Certain Fountain (1963) even after all these years.

Personal Life

She has been married to Webster B. Lowe Jr. since February 13, 1976.

Lee is director of The Thalians, an association for the treatment of mental health and emotional well-being at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. Debbie Reynolds was the president of the organization. Both have been effectively engaged and involved with building this celebrity run association for more than 30 years.
