Ryan Kalil was born on 29th May, 1985 in a city called Tucson which is located in Arizona. He grew up with his family in a California. Ryan’s father, Frank Kalil was a former American football player, playing for Arizona University. Ryan’s mother, Cheryl was a former model and was crowned as Miss California in the year of 1981. He did his schooling at Servite High School, which was a Roman Catholic school for only boys. He represented his school in American Football. Ryan did his college in the South California University and represented his college football team USC Trojans. He impressed everyone with his speed and accuracy in passing the ball. He received multiple awards like Bob Chandler, Morris Trophy and Courage Award in 2005, 2006 and 2004 respectively. He was also on the shortlist for Rimington Trophy, which was given to best center in American college football and Outland Trophy, which was given to best lineman. Ryan was given the best lineman award by his teammates in USC Trojans. Ryan was asked to participate in Senior Bowl as the reward for his consistent performances in College football.

In 2007, he participated in NFL Combine, which is a hunting ground for NFL scouts to pick the best college football players. The players will have to perform various tests (both physical and mental) in the competition. He completed the sprint of 40 yards in less than 5 seconds and did 34 counts in 225 pounds bench press category. His performances were noticed by many NFL counts and he was predicted to be picked in the initial rounds of NFL draft.

Carolina Panthers picked Ryan Kalil for the center position in the 2nd round. The Panthers also picked Dwayne Jarret, who was Ryan’s teammate in USC Trojans. In 2007, Ryan Kalil started only in 3 matches in his first season. He was the regular starter for Panthers in 2008 season and he played 12 matches and he missed 4 matches because of injury. He was a regular starter for Panthers in the subsequent seasons and also included in the list of athletes to participate in 2010 for Pro Bowl Championships. In 2010, Ryan Kalil was signed by Carolina Panthers for a record sum of $49 million dollars for 6 years. This made him the first person to receive huge salary to play in the center position in the history of NFL.
