Samantha Brown's Places to Love, her newest show, premiered in 2018 on PBS. The first season features thirteen different locations. Samantha says the show is an attempt to "understand that when we're a part of that cultural movement, everyone wants to be a part of when they travel, go where the locals go, do what the locals do; what that means is we want to be a part of the effort." She says the show is about "really understanding the effort that goes into creating the experiences that we as travelers get to be a part of, whether it's the effort to create a meal that you eat at a restaurant, a piece of music you hear at a concert, or a piece of art." Regarding traveling, Samantha says this: "What I love most about travel is feeling like a fish out of water. I love being the person in the room who looks and sounds like no one else. The challenge of seeing where I fit in and how I can make a connection with people who are completely different than me is thrilling."
