Family history

He was born in in Mineola, New York and American by birth. He spent most of his childhood in Long Island and from childhood days, he is interested in sports. But back to back injuries didn’t let him choose wrestling or football as his career and he finally settled for acting. Popular comedian, Gary Valentine is his brother and his sister Leslie is popular in USA for organizing charitable events.

He married Steffiana de la Cruz in 2004 after dating her for long time. His wife is also an actress and acted in hit movies like Zookeeper (2011) and in Paul Blart: Mall Cop series. The couple is living at Delray Beach, Florida and they were blessed with four children, a son and three daughters. Their relation is very good till date and the chances of getting divorce in near future are very less.

Professional journey

He excellently utilized the 5 min. comedy slot given by his friend Richie Minervini and became a popular comedian in East Side Comedy Club. He started his professional journey in 1989 as a standup comedian and came into limelight very quickly. His cute face and funny expressions also helped immensely in sitcom shoes. He attended several talk shows in the initial stages of his career and got his first TV acting role in 1991. In the situational comedy series The King of Queens which successfully ran for nine years, the role of Kevin James can’t be erased from viewers mind easily. He even got nominated for prestigious Emmy award for his role in this sitcom show.

He made his mark on bigger screen also by playing comedian roles in big budget Hollywood flicks and played lead characters in some comedy films. His first film was Hitch in which he acted with noted artists like Will Smith and Eva Mendes. He played important characters in films The Dilemma, Zookeeper and also produced these films which were box office hits. He also gave his voice for some movies like Monster House, Barnyard etc.

He is very active on social networking platforms like Facebook, twitter and Instagram and regularly posts updates about the movies and roles he is currently doing. He regularly uploads pictures and occasionally answers the questions posted by his fans. He is an inspiration to many obese and overweight patients as he lost close to 40 pounds recently by doing regular exercises and following strict diet.
