Gary Valentine is known as an American actor, comedian, and writer. He is most famous for his role on the American comedy sitcom, the King of Queens.
Gary Joseph Knipfing was born on November 22, 1961, in Mineola, New York. Gary was born to his mother, Janet, who at the time worked in a chiropractor’s office. His father owned an insurance agency. Gary grew up close with two siblings, his brother Kevin Knipfing and his sister, Leslie Knipfing. His brother grew up to become a famous actor and comedian known as Kevin James. Gary's brother Kevin is known for a variety of roles but mostly for The King of Queens, Paul Blart: Mall Cop and the Barnyard.
Gary’s career took off when he began to do shows on the stand-up comedy stage. He had a few appearances on a variety of stages including the Montreal Comedy Festival. However, in order to further develop his career, he had to leave New York and relocate to Los Angeles because of increased traffic in New York. Being a natural comedy talent like his brother, Gary quickly got a lot of spots on numerous talk shows such as The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and The Conan O'Brien Show.
Valentine joined his brother Kevin James on his sitcom with his role as Danny Heffernan on The King of Queens. He also appeared on a TV show called Men of a Certain Age which was written as well as directed by Ray Romano but it was met with a lot of criticism. He also appeared on The X Show and filmed his own standup special, "Comedy Central Presents Gary Valentine." He also has a few big screen roles on his resume like the movies called Stuck on You and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.
Gary's main talent lies within stand-up comedy and he has been touring Los Angeles’s clubs for more than 15 years, delivering a great deal of laughter to hundreds of thousands of people who visit the multiple packed comedy clubs in Los Angeles.
Gary Valentine's wife’s name is Jackyline Knipfing. They got married in 1993 and have been married for close to three decades. It is unknown if they have had any children because they have not made their personal family information available to the public. Gary prefers to stay out of the spotlight because his famous brother already draws attention to the immediate family.
Gary Valentine is an ardent golf player and plays in a few golf good cause tournaments every year, including BMW/Synnex Pro-Am, Monday after the Masters hosted by Hootie and the Blowfish, and The Drive hosted by Russell Wilson and Casey Kahne. He is also effectively engaged with The JVK Foundation, named after his father, which underpins different causes, including Retinitis Pigmentosa. His sister experiences the infection which led to the family taking a personal interest in the research and cure of the disease.
