As a member of AKB48, Akimoto contributed to several chart-topping singles such as “Sakura no Hanabiratachi 2008,” “Seifuku ga Jama o Suru,” “Chance no Junban,” “Ponytail to Shushu,” and “Everyday, Katyusha.” In 2014, she composed and performed “Little Witch,” which became the theme song for NHK's Spring Campaign, showcasing her talents beyond performance into music composition.
