Dawson was born in Long Beach, California, US on 19th July 1988. In his native town he attended Lakewood high school. In his childhood he was overweight and was often beaten by his abusive, alcoholic father who eventually left his family. Dawson was also bullied for his poor family and had to live very hard life along with his two siblings. Dawson belongs from Dutch, Welsh, Swedish and English descent.

For Shane the passion of making You Tube videos began when he participated in the school videos’ project along with his mates and friends. He initialized to create the You Tube videos for his channel ShaneDawsonTV on March 10, 2008. Meanwhile he remained attached with Jenny Craig, Inc. with his brother and mother. He used to upload his own video of pole dancing in the building where he worked. As a result of this video he was fired from job in August 2008. Fred is Dead is his another popular video that was viewed 23 million times. He started one more channel named Shane Dawson TV2 but the channel was infrequently used by the creator. More often he used to post his blogs through iPhone on this 3rd You Tube Channel. Viewers are his fans frequently watch him collaborating with several other You Tubers such as TheFineBros, Joey Graceffa and Bark Baker.

On 11th August 2010, Dawson declared that he is going to make a 30 minute pilot named SD High. In a You Tube video Dawson conveyed his viewers that currently he is doing on a TV show and this show would revolve around the part of his life when he was working at a weight loss center.

SUPLUV! is known as Shane Dawson’s debut song. It was released on 31st March 2012on iTunes. The song was released along with his debut song video which was released on the same date. The song got 28th position on the US iTunes Pop Chart and reached the 163 spot on UK Singles Chart. He started directing and starring a comedy movie in Pittsburgh after declaring on April 4, 2014. The film titled Not Cool was released in September 2014 with an approximate budget of S1 million.
