Toya Washington is a dedicated member of the National Association of Black Journalists, supporting diversity and excellence in the field. In 2015, she was honored as the Wisconsin Journalist in Residence at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, a role that allowed her to mentor aspiring journalists and contribute to academic discourse on journalism and media representation.
Washington is married to Brian, and the couple has two daughters, Alivia and Maya. The family resides in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Despite her busy career, Washington remains actively involved in community events and maintains a strong presence both on and off the air.
