Vanessa Baden, also known as Vanessa Jennifer Baden-Kelly, was born on September 8, 1985, in Manhattan Beach, California. Although she was born on the west coast, Baden was raised in Satellite Beach, Florida where is where she began her career as a model in commercial advertising before playing a role in the Nickelodeon television series "Gullah Gullah Island". After her role on "Gullah Gullah Island", Baden went on to portray Kyra Rockmore for over 60 episodes on the Nickelodeon television series for teens called "Kenan & Kel".
Baden won the Florida District Miss Black and Gold Pageant in 2004 where she represented the Iota Delta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity at the Atlanta-based competition. Some of her most notable accomplishments in the entertainment industry include starring, co-writing, and co-producing the web series called "Giants".
The web series streams on Issa Rae's YouTube channel and Baden's performance in the series earned her a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 2018.
